A Message From Bryan Fischer
When I laid down the mantle of the Idaho Values Alliance in the summer of 2009 to take a position with the American Family Association, I looked forward to the day when fresh leadership could be found to reactivate the IVA.
I’m happy to announce that day has come.
Gary Brown has agreed to pick up the torch and resume the mission of the IVA to make Idaho the friendliest place in the world to raise a family.
Gary has been a pastor for 33 years, and since 1990 has been a national educational consultant. For the five years prior to the time when Gary and his wife Cindy move to Idaho (they live in Twin Lakes), he was a trusted voice in the halls of the United States Congress, especially on issues of education and adolescent health. By invitation of Congress, Gary conducted a National Youth Leadership Training Conference in Washington, D.C. in February, 2006.
Sen. Tom Coburn’s chief of staff, Michael Schwartz, says this about Gary: “Gary is an effective voice for families and the youth of America. His impact, here, on the Hill concerning sexual abstinence education and adolescent health legislation cannot be overstated. I continue to support and pray for Gary Brown’s success because when I pray for Gary’s success, I am praying for the success of America.”
Caroline Beard, former legislative director for Rep. Lee Terry of Nebraska, says of Gary, “If his vision for healthy communities and strong families is realized, it could revitalize entire generations in America. His vision and ability to make a difference are as genuine and heartfelt as the man himself.”
Gary has served as a consultant to state and local public health agencies in building strategies for growing healthy youth and families, and he has been a feature writer for national abstinence education groups.
Gary is the Founder and President of Reach America and the Inland Northwest Leadership Academy, headquartered in Coeur d’Alene, and has dedicated his energy to training up the next generation of great American leaders.
As a graduate of both Howard Payne University and New Orleans Seminary, he has the education, training, and experience to take the IVA and its work in Idaho to the next level.
Gary believes that America is the last great hope for freedom-loving people in the world and Idaho is the last great hope for America.
I trust that you will give Gary and the IVA the same generous encouragement, prayers, and financial support you gave me during my time at the helm.
Gary will, as he should, put his own stamp on the IVA. He has a unique set of gifts to bring to the mission of the IVA, and it will prosper under his capable leadership.
The IVA and Idaho are in good hands with Gary Brown! I’m pleased to hand off the baton to Gary, and I know you are going to like him and his vision for the Gem State and the nation. May God’s blessing rest on all of you, on Gary, and on the mission and work of the IVA.
It’s all yours, Gary!
