“FOCAL POINT” RADIO/TV PROGRAM BEGINS TODAY

Just a quick reminder that today I’ll be launching the new “Focal Point” talk show for the American Family Association. It will air Monday through Friday on AFR Talk and the AFA Channel, both of which are part of the American Family Association.

AFR Talk airs on the AFA’s nationwide talk radio network of 135 stations, and the AFA Channel is carried on Sky Angel.

The show will air Monday through Friday from noon to 2 p.m. Boise and Southern Idaho time (MT), and from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Northern Idaho time (PT).

While Idaho does not currently have a station in the AFA network, you can access the program through the
www.afa.net
website at the links below. If you click on the AFR Talk Video link, you can access the video-streaming component, our version of the “Ditto Cam.”

Today, we will talk about Gov. Sarah Palin’s resignation, and I’ll spin out my own theory as to her reasons. If you want to know what they are, tune in! I’ll have some material from the Huffington Post that will shock you, and which illustrates the utterly hateful vitriol from the left that has been ceaselessly and relentlessly directed at Gov. Palin.

And we will also work on breaking the story nationwide of the Air Force’s refusal to honor America’s military at the God and Country Rally this year with its customary flyover. This is a story with enormous First Amendment and historical implications, and may well result in litigation against the Air Force for this unprecedented anti-Christian bigotry.

We’ll take calls during the program, and so we hope you will join us!

The call-in number is 866-963-2037, and I hope you’ll make liberal use of it – I’d love to hear from you!

CONSERATIVE BLOGGERS I’D URGE YOU TO READ

While the IVA is in whisper mode, there are two conservative Idaho bloggers, both good friends of mine, I’d urge you to read who will provide insightful commentary on Idaho's public life. The first is Adam Graham, who is regularly quoted by the Idaho Statesman in its “Other Voices” section on the editorial page, and who is a frequent contributor to the Pajama Media’s website.

Adam has also started a community blog at the Idaho Press Tribune.

The second is Clayton Cramer, who writes on a wide-ranging number of issues (some of them not related particularly to social conservatism) and he is a historian in his own right and a very good writer. He’s especially strong on Second Amendment issues, and some of his research was cited by the Supreme Court in its groundbreaking Heller ruling last summer, which established beyond equivocation that the Second Amendment guarantees an individual right to keep and bear arms, not a collective one.

A huge “Thank you” again to all of you who have contributed to the work of the IVA. We could not have made the impact we did without your generosity and faithfulness. May God bless you for your kindness.
