Dr. Steven Hayward at Boise State
Boise State University’s American Founding Initiative welcomes DR. STEVEN HAYWARD of National Review and the American Enterprise Institute to campus February 10, 2010 at 7:00 pm in the Jordan
Ballroom. Hayward will deliver a talk entitled “What is Alive in Reagan’s
Legacy” in celebration of President's Day and especially in celebration of one
of America’s greatest presidents. Please join us for Dr. Hayward’s
engaging discussion of why Reagan’s legacy matters in this Age of Obama.
Hayward’s two volume political biography, the Age of Reagan, traces the rise of Reagan's conservatism from the 1960s through his
presidency. The late William F. Buckley called Hayward’s first volume a
“fascinating and extremely readable book about a unique era in American
politics. His meticulous research and perceptive insights provide an
informative and entertaining account of Ronald Reagan’s rise from Hollywood to
the presidency, as well as an in-depth understanding of the times in which that
ascent occurred.” Ed Meese, Reagan’s Chief of Staff and later Attorney General,
agrees: “Steven Hayward gets two big things right in this book: Ronald
Reagan and the age he came to dominate. It is a powerful story, carefully
researched and well told.”
Hayward also writes on contemporary environmental issues,
writing some of the most in depth refutations of the global warming theory in
print. As the F.K. Weyerhauser
Fellow at the American
Enterprise Institute he is the coauthor of the annual Index of Leading
Environmental Indicators; the producer and host of An Inconvenient Truth . . .
or Convenient Fiction?, a rebuttal to Al Gore's documentary; and the author of
many books on environmental topics.
The event is FREE to attend and free parking is available in
